This is where we share our favorite tips, tricks, secrets, and ways to "think like a healthy person" so that you can find your own delicious path to healthy living.
"Feel-Good Mondays" are meant to help us get back into that place of feeling energized, nourished, and ready to take inspired action for the week ahead.
After 4 months of no school and minimum childcare (in the form of grandma – thanks Mom!!), Rye went back to school this month. (Cue the party blowers and throw the confetti!)
His preschool offered in-person summer camp, and we were so grateful for Rye to be reunited with his friends and for us parents to catch a little break.

My weekday chores include making lunches and packing snacks again, and I’ve never felt happier to jump to the task. And I’ve rounded up some of our recent finds to share with you!
I’ll skip over the healthy snack ideas you’ve already seen a million times, like my go-to’s seaweed (we love you SeaSnax!!) and nuts, and instead I’ll share some of my new favorites that are currently taking up some pantry space.
Rye loves these snacks, and they’ve been known to sneak into my snacking repertoire, too.
Whisps Cheese Crisps: If your camp/school doesn’t allow nuts and your kid can tolerate dairy, these are a nice high-protein, filling alternative. Rye LOVES the cheddar flavor and would eat these crisps by the bag if he could.
Thrive Market Nacho Banana Munchies: Dairy-free nacho deliciousness, in the form of a crunchy, savory banana chip. We love Thrive Market and order tons of snacks from them (their dry-roasted, sea salted cashews are an absolute family favorite!).
Quinn Paleo-Friendly Grain-Free Pretzel Chips: Grain-free, crunchy, salty, and totally addictive! A healthier alternative to most processed pretzels.
Patience Fruit & Co Dried Cranberries: Simply the best dried cranberries around. Most cranberries are cut in half before being dried, but these are dried whole. They’re super plump, juicy, and sweetened with a little apple juice. For the grown-ups: I am super, duper into their unsweetened dried cranberries! I had no idea that unsweetened cranberries could be so sweet on their own. I’m totally digging them.
Baru Nuts: I discovered these at Whole Foods last week and I’m really into them. (Admittedly Rye wasn’t won over, so thus far, I’m wolfing these down on my own.) For those with peanut allergies or if you’re just looking for a peanut alternative as a dietary preference, these nuts work as a great peanut stand-in. They taste like a cross between a peanut and an almond. They’re roasted, crunchy, and taste delicious in a homemade trail mix. These nuts are being touted as a new South American superfood.
Alyssa’s Cookies: We order these scrumptious oatmeal cookies by the case, and they double as both a snack and a breakfast food for our 4-year old. They have simple, clean ingredients (offering both vegan and egg versions) and are sweetened only with chicory root fiber and dried fruit. Matt and Rye devour the chocolate-flavored Chocobites, while I’m especially partial to the oatmeal Vegan Bites.
By the way, I recently discovered YumBox lunch boxes and we’re so into these! They make packing school lunches fun and easy. I use the littlest cup to pack kids’ supplements from Nordic Naturals (their gummy fish oil and probiotics). Rye feels like he’s getting candy at lunch, and I know that they’re supporting his little gut and immune system to be strong and healthy. Win-win.
With love,
