"Feel-Good Mondays" are meant to help us get back into that place of feeling energized, nourished, and ready to take inspired action for the week ahead.

I spent most of my childhood dealing with itchy skin. There was always a random rash somewhere on my body (itchy elbow, red and bumpy knee, irritation behind my neck).

Now, I’ve always had very sensitive skin – scented products and even natural sunscreens cause my skin to flare up – but there was something more serious that causing the constant barrage of bumpy, itchy skin.

It wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I discovered that a food sensitivity was contributing the constant rashes, and it wasn’t a food I’d ever dream could be the culprit (I was eating it almost every day, thinking it was a super healthy choice!).

These days, our 4-year old son has, alas, inherited my ultra-sensitive skin. He’s often the victim of a heat rash or dry-skin eczema. I’ll be the first to admit that when it gets really bad, we will dab on the prescription steroid cream, and I am very grateful for that quick-fix option. But I’m hesitant to use it too frequently, because of potential side effects. Luckily, most of the time, I’ve had much success treating his skin through natural food choices and natural skin products.

If you or your family suffer from rashy skin, check out my series on how to discover the root cause of the rash and how to get natural, long lasting relief. Discover what could be causing your rashes, and what to do about it!

1) I spent the first 20+ years of my life with ichy skin. I discovered that this food was a main culprit in my rashy skin! Learn how find out if you might have a delayed-onset reaction to a certain food.

2)  Over-the-counter medicine can lead to leaky gut, which can make your skin more likely to get rashy. Could fungal or yeast overgrowth be creating issues for you?

3) My favorite natural skin products that help soothe red, rashy, irritated skin and lifestyle habits that can make a big difference in avoiding rashes in the first place.
