How to Get Better Sleep Tonight

Hi and happy Feel-Good Monday!

This is where we share our favorite tips, tricks, secrets, and ways to "think like a healthy person" so that you can find your own delicious path to healthy living.

"Feel-Good Mondays" are meant to help us get back into that place of feeling energized, nourished, and ready to take inspired action for the week ahead.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a night owl (and that was even before I became the mom of a toddler!). I am that annoying friend who starts yawning by 8pm and excuses herself out of any social situation by 9pm to get ready for bed. What can I say?! I love my sleep! And I prioritize it over pretty much anything (much to the disappointment of anyone who’s ever attended a party, group gathering, or concert with me…).

Do you ever struggle to fall asleep?

Want to know my good-sleep secrets?

Sleep is one of our favorite topics at Moss Wellness because:

  1. We all love sleep, and most of us could benefit from more of it,

  2. What we eat on a daily basis and our daily lifestyle play such a big role in whether we sleep well or not, and

  3. When you get great, deep sleep, everything just gets better – from health to weight to mood to energy levels.

I recently posted my favorite sleep tips over on Instagram.

Check out my top recommendations to get better sleep tonight.

    1) What to avoid: drinking too much water before bed, too much alcohol (disrupts sleep patterns), eating too close to bedtime (can create feelings of restlessness, blood sugar spikes, or uncomfortable “heavy belly”)

    2) What you can add in to improve sleep: try magnesium (the relaxation mineral!), tryptophan (the “sleepy” amino acid that is found in foods like turkey and nuts), complex carbohydrates (fruits and vegetables, whole grains like quinoa), foods rich in B6 (boosts melatonin levels for a more restful sleep, found in bananas and sweet potatoes).

YAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWN.

You can feel good every day. And we’re here to support you.

Love,

P.S. Check out my Instagram video series on cravings. I talk about the root causes of cravings and what you can do about it!
