What I put in my coffee

Hi and happy Feel-Good Monday!

This is where we share our favorite tips, tricks, secrets, and ways to "think like a healthy person" so that you can find your own delicious path to healthy living.

"Feel-Good Mondays" are meant to help us get back into that place of feeling energized, nourished, and ready to take inspired action for the week ahead.

I love cream (we’re talking real heavy cream!) in my coffee. I love the rich creaminess, the mouthfeel, and all-around deliciousness that it provides my cup o’ joe. But what I don’t love is the throat-clearing, sniffly, congested-feeling that too much dairy causes for me.

Over the years, I searched high and low for a heavy cream alternative and — truth be told —  I found that most commercial alt-milks don’t cut it for me. Most nut milks are just too thin and watery for my liking. SO, I took to making my own for several years!

My homemade almond-macadamia nut milk is much richer and creamier than traditional store-bought alt-milk brands, and it tastes GREAT (like, really great!!) in iced coffee/iced espresso.

But it doesn’t hold up so well when heated, so my search continued for a dairy-alternative that would work in my morning cappuccinos. And, ALAS! I found two store-brands that totally do the trick for me, and are easy to source!

Check out my recent video where I reveal my two new favorite alt-milks that work as well (or almost as well) as heavy cream in my coffee:

Love,
