Your happiest, healthiest Halloween ever!

Hi and happy Feel-Good Monday!

This is where we share our favorite tips, tricks, secrets, and ways to "think like a healthy person" so that you can find your own delicious path to healthy living.

"Feel-Good Mondays" are meant to help us get back into that place of feeling energized, nourished, and ready to take inspired action for the week ahead.

I know there were some health-nut families that existed back in the 80’s, but I certainly didn’t live in one of those households!

Rye as a little lamb last year. We’re dressing Rye up as an owl this year (it’ll be a hoot!).

Nope. We went ALL OUT with the candy at Halloween. We filled a giant metal bowl with our favorite stuff: mini Butterfingers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers, and M&M’s. Some of it went to the few neighbors that actually trick-or-treated at our door on our rural, back-country street. Most of it went into our bellies.

I cringe when I think back to just how much candy I wolfed down each Halloween as a kid (in the days before, the day-of, and in the days/weeks after). And while I LOVED it at the time, I can also remember the nasty, cranky mood swings that followed (sorry mom…).

Luckily, there is healthier candy (that’s still totally delicious – I SWEAR!) available these days. You might not be able to control every piece of candy that lands in your little one’s trick-or-treat bag (or in the office candy bowl), but you can definitely make healthier choices with what you keep in your home or hand out at your door.

This year, instead of giving out traditional candy, we’re handing out mini bags of this delicious, organic, coconut oil popcorn. Rye loves this stuff, and it’s a nice break from all of the sugary treats that will landing in the kiddos’ trick-or-treat bags.

I promise these articles won’t disappoint, and you’ll get some fantastic tips (like the Unreal Chocolate suggestion by Food Babe – it’s out of this world!)
